An artistic splash!

I was just randomly bored at some point, and since I wanted to upload something on my deviantart-account. (it looks so empty!!) I decided to make a few photo collages. So here they are!

Photobucket

On this one you can the Rice bread I made, together with the Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream which I still prefer calling DINOcupcakes! and Cute honey cupcakes which I will hereby name My little Princesscupcakes! just because I feel like it right now!!

Photobucket

A few more of my creations! The top left shows a fruit and nut cake that I haven't posted the recipe from yet. So far it's still my secret recipe! I like to think this is the recipe Im best at and always works and maybe I can melt hearts with this! Anyway, the other two are Vanilla pans, the little two-layered buns, and Mini meringue cupcakes which you can also turn into lollipops!

Photobucket

The last one I made! It's a bit different from the other two and shows the Chocolate Cheesecake I made quite a while ago. I always keep the pictures to everything I make (even the bad and blurry ones!) in case they might come in handy some day.. and they did! I really like the way I did these things. They're simple and still pretty! I might want to use something like that for my layout here as well.. who knows?

I hope you like it and you'll enjoy the recipes! ^^ For the links to the recipes, just click on the name of the recipe!

Peanut butter brownies

Photobucket

A few days before or after christmas -I wouldnt even know anymore- me and my friend decided to make something.. Anything! Since I brought along a few books with stuff we could bake and one of 'm is totally dedicated to brownies (and everyone loves brownies!) we decided on that one. I might be a bit overreacting when I say my friend started drooling as soon as he saw this recipe, but we very soon decided we would make THAT recipe!
So off to the store we went, for our ingredients!

Ingredients:
Brownie:
100 gram milk or dark chocolate
175 gram unsalted butter
3 large eggs
200 gram cane sugar
120 gram flour
2 tablespoons cacao powder

Peanut butter-mix:
180 gram peanut butter
50 gram sugar
1 tablespoon flour
5 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons roasted, unsalted peanuts
chocolate chips (if wanted)

Brownie:
1. Start with double-boiling the chocolate in a small pan. When it is melted, add the butter and mix well. Take the pan off the fire when everything is melted and mixed and put it aside.
2. With an electric mixer mix the eggs until stiff in a bowl.
3. When it doesn't seem to get any stiffer, add the sugar spoon by spoon and keep mixing well between each addition.
4. When you have added all the sugar, you're going to have to do the same with the chocolate! Add it spoon by spoon and keep stirring well inbetween.
5. Sift the flour and the cacao above the mixture and pour it into a brownie tin. Make sure to grease or line it with baking paper first!

Peanut butter-mix:
6. Just mix all the ingredients, except the peanuts, together in a bowl. Preferably with an electric mixer, just because that's way easier!

Peanut butter brownies:
7. Use a spoon to put little 'dots' of peanut butter-mix onto the brownie mixture in the tin. Make sure to equally spread them and to use all the peanut butter-mixture!
8. With a knife, or the same spoon, spread the mix out a bit and mingle it a little with the brownie-mixture.
9. Sprinkle the top with peanuts and chocolate chips, if desired and put it in a preheated oven of 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit and leave it for about 30 minutes or until done. You can poke a foodpin or fork into the brownie to see if it comes out reasonably dry.
10 Done! Let's eat!

We loved these brownies! They were absolutely awesome!! I thought it was a bit weird when the peanut butter-mix had to be put on top and mixed in with a knife. It sounded so awkward I had my doubts. It turned out very well though, better than I expected. The brownies were, needless to say, gone in no time!

Thanks again, to my beloved friend Shawn for the pictures!

My Christmas Party

I know it's a bit late to still talk about Christmas, but ever since Christmas I just haven't had the time to sit down and blog a bit! December is such a busy month! I spent my Christmas in England this year and had to make my own Christmas dinner!! That was the first time I've ever done that! I didn't make it too complicated, especially since we just didn't bother that much anyway! Me and my friend decided to make an Asian-sorta-like dinner, here are some of the results!

Photobucket

All the ingredients needed to make sushi. Making sushi is so much fun! You can see leek, chives, dried plums, tuna from a can, smoked salmon, tomatoes, bell peppers and cucmber! Along with a big plate to put the sushi on!

Here you can see it again, but with the soup I made as a starter. Disliked that one! It was a bit salty, at the same time had no taste and sushi nori just didnt go well in it!

Here are some of the sushi we ended up making. We used everything on the other pictures, added some mayonaise and umeboshi puree too. Of course we used sushi nori leaves as well! I have the recipe for how to make sushi here: Simple sushi
The last picture shows some of the little creations I made: a plum filled with rice, a little onigiri and a different-style-sushi.. They were so tiny&cute!

Next was the wok I made. I mixed prawns, mushrooms, corn, leek, bell pepper and snow peas in it. It has a lot of colour so it should be healthy! I mixed it together with a honey-sauce for chicken. It was really delicious!

Of course we cant leave out deserts!! The top picture shows a fruit salad I made. Just some chopped mango, peach, pineapple and grapes together with milk and yoghurt and I think I added some juice too. I always love these fruity salads!
The last picture shows brownie that I made from a package. I was too lazy at that time to buy all the ingredients to make 'real' brownies and my friend just happened to have the package at home. It was still very nice though! I decorated it -poorly- with some icing. I love the english icings!! We should have more of those here in Holland!
Anyway, so far my Christmas dinner! A bit different post than normal, but I'll make sure to upload some more soon! I still have to put up the recipe for my Peanut butter brownies I made that next day... link!

Thanks to my beloved friend Shawn (my first and one-n-only follower!) for the pictures!
